In a cave in Puerto Rico...

It's happened so many times to me that I see someone wearing something so cool and either 1) I do not have my camera or 2) I am too chicken to go all Scott Schuman on them.

The one I most regret was this guy in Boston who was wearing these mustard yellow pants with a velvet navy blazer and some velvet loungers with a full on cravat and all. That moment will be forever gone and his outfit burned in my mind with tons of "I-should-have-taken-that-picture" regret.

Since then, I have decided that for the sake of this blog I have to "grab my balls" and take the pictures... so the other day, while exploring some caves in Puerto Rico I saw this girl and she looked so cute.

It took me about 15 minutes to muster up the confidence to ask her to pose:

FCUK dress worn as a shirt, boyfriend shorts...
The key with men's bathing suits is to wear the 6" shorts.  They look more structured, sort of like the equivalent of skinny jeans.

Fall wear...

Velvet or calf skin loungers are a must for the fall.  I found this perfect velvet pair at Zara.

My tights are Gerbe, my skirt Club Monaco and my turtle neck Benetton.

The distressed, hard leather chronicles...

On this particular morning I had somewhere to be.

I remember looking for my leather shorts EVERYWHERE to no avail. Panic struck me as my thoughts raced to  realize what could have most likely happened to my shorts - (as almost always does when I am down here for a visit): one of our helpers had surely washed them and hung them out to dry IN THE SUN - MY LEATHER SHORTS.
So I ran down to the laundry area to confirm my suspicions, and sure enough there they were, my laser cut shorts, hanging from a clothes line bleeding their color off. As much as I appreciate the help, I really felt like I could kill someone. Needless to say I cursed a lot - to myself - due to the fact that my shorts were now shrunken & made of hard leather.

So I did the only thing a normal 30 year old would do: I went and cried to my mother; not with the purpose of telling on the help, but because luckily my mom is like The Queen in the sense that she can do EVERYTHING - I mean it, everything. You know how Queen Elizabeth is like a mechanic and a nurse and a this and that? Well, my mom is very similar.

Anyway, falling nothing short of my expectations, she took out this leather cleaner and restored my shorts back to their old texture after which she followed to lower the hem so they wouldn't look like bootie shorts.

I mean, I realize the shorts are material and do not really matter. But if I could get them fixed why not?

I honestly did not tell [her] anything about the shorts that morning, just that even though I greatly appreciated her help, I was kind of used to doing my own laundry (or taking things to the leather specialist for cleaning - hellooo!!). This was of no use however because as usually tends to happen instructions go in one ear and out the other: the next morning [she] had already compiled a new load of silk goods to damage - lol.  Luckliy I got there just in time to save my gems...

Half heartedly smiling because my shorts were still wearable and because my photographer Magda told me to.

rescued shorts ** sigh**

Ode to Magda...

Right before leaving I was getting more comfortable with the Blogger Boyfriend in doing "more daring" poses and it was actually quite fun to do... But then I had to go home, and I my photographer for the month was Nurse Magda (God bless her soul).

These pictures are interesting for 2 reasons: 1. I couldn't really move, so I look more stiff than usual 2. I didn't want to burst Magda's artistic bubble (she was quite excited when I taught her how to use the Rebel) and she would stop me in the most awkward places and poses and tell me - in Spanish: "stop right there this looks wonderful" (and I thought it was the weirdest pose or place ever)...

In this particular shoot I gave her all artistic freedom because she was truly on fire that day. Also, I felt real sheepish posing in front of her as I do not think she understood what my blog was (I wonder if she thought that I was just making her take pictures of me every day so I could sit there and stare at myself?!). Anyhow She's cute, and this shoot was all directed by Magda - certified nurse & fashion photographer... :p

American Eagle top, Urban outfitter Jeans, Madewell Skimmers, Casa de Oro dangly necklace :)

This was my "Virgin Suicides" pose.
Cue Magda: "STOP right there! Click, click, flash...." :)
